KBKit supports the open-source community. Qualifying projects get the Pro plan free, with AI features available as paid add-ons.

Eligibility

  • Non-commercial use

The KB must be used to document your open-source project. It cannot be used to host documentation for a commercial product or SaaS.

  • Your own work

You must be the maintainer or a core contributor of the project. Forks of other projects are not eligible.

Program terms

Right to revoke. KBKit reserves the right to revoke OSS Program membership at any time if the project no longer meets the eligibility criteria. Reasons for revocation include: the repository going private, falling below 50 stars, ceasing active development, or being used to host documentation for a commercial product.

Verification. We periodically verify that OSS members still meet the eligibility criteria. Members may be asked to provide updated information about their project status.

Data retention. If your OSS membership is revoked, your account is downgraded to the Free plan. Your data is retained but features beyond the Free plan limits become read-only. You can export your data at any time.

No support guarantees. OSS members receive Standard Support (the same as paying Pro customers). Response times are best-effort and not guaranteed.
